35 CASES OF DENGUE LARVA DETECTED IN CITY UNDER TANDARUST PUNJAB MISSION
India News Centre,Jalandharः As a part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases in the city under the Tandarust Punjab Mission, a joint team of the health department and Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) on Saturday spotted 35 dengue larva cases in various localities of the city.
Teams of anti-larva wing led by Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Gurvinder Bajwa, Mr. Sarabjit, Mr. Satpal, Mr. Balwinder Kumar, Mr. Sukhjinder Singh and others carried the inspection in Balmiki Mohalla, Chotta Ali Mohalla, Industry Area, Shiv Nagar, Ram Nagar, New Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Indira Colony and others.
During the checking, the teams visited 361 houses, checked 145 air coolers, 105 waste containers and eight abundant lying tyres. The teams detected four larva cases in Balmiki Mohalla, four in Industry Area, five in Shiv Nagar, four each in Ram Nagar and New Babu Labh Singh Nagar, six in Babu Labh Singh Nagar and eight in Indira Colony.
The team members interacted with the local residents and asked them to refrain from storing water in containers and air coolers as it could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes that were the carriers of diseases like dengue, malaria and others.The team members also informed the people about the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ that was aimed at ensuring the overall wellness of the people of the district.
