DRIVE TO PLANT 250 SAPLINGS IN DAC COMPLETE, DC REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS FOR ITS UPKEEP

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the process of planting saplings in the district Administrative Complex has been completed and now the administration would name these plants on the name of officers and employees of the complex to ensure its better upkeep.
The Deputy Commissioner today visited the complex to take stock of the 250 saplings planted in the premises. He expressed satisfaction over the entire work and said that the entire team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Paramveer Singh has meticulously executed this work to provide green lungs to the complex. Mr Sharma said that soon the work of naming these saplings after the employees who have adopted them would be completed to ensure their proper maintenance.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the plantation drive trees of species like Amaltas, Amla, Arjun, Bahera, Sirs, Bohar, Imli, Jaman, Kachnaar, Neem, Shisham, Sukhchain and others have been planted in the complex. Mr. Sharma said that the employees of the administration would adopt one tree each and ensure its proper growth. He said that it was need of the hour to make the complex clean, green and pollution free thereby checking the environmental pollution in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that besides the employees the administration would also take the services of the professional gardeners to ensure the maintenance of the plants in the complex. He envisioned that these plants would play a pivotal role in improving the air quality in and around the District Administrative Complex.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Paramveer Singh, Sub Registrar Mr. Maninder Singh Sidhu and others were also present.
