MEGA HEALTH SCREENING CAMP HELD IN BASTI DANISHMANDAN
India News Centre,Jalandhar- The health department on Tuesday organized a mega health screening camp in Sri Guru Ravidass Mandir, Basti Danishmandan.
The camp was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon Mr Rajesh Kumar Bagga and Municipal Councillor Mrs Sunita Rinku, wife of MLA Jalandhar West Mr Sushil Kumar Rinku.
They also flagged off a TB awareness van which would disseminate the information regarding the diseases among the people for three months in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs Sunita Rinku said that Punjab Government is committed to providing best health facilities to the people and today's mega-camp is just a forwarding step to ensure medical examination of the people by the health department at their doorsteps.
She said that health department has launched 'Tandarust Punjab Sehat Muhim' a mass contact program to sensitize people towards preventive care.
She told that health department has also provided a regular supply of medicines, the appointment of specialists, and availability of machines in the health care institutions. She also said that the Punjab government has already been offering free treatment for 30 life-threatening diseases to the school students.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga said that around 1500 people were examined in the camp and medicines were given free of cost. He also explained the people about the various health programs started by Punjab Government.
On the occasion, District Immunization Officer Dr Tarsem Singh, District Family and Welfare Officer Dr Surinder Kumar, District TB officer Dr Rajiv Sharma, and others were present on the occasion.
