TWO BULLET MOTORCYCLES CHALLANED FOR CAUSING NOISE POLLUTION
India News Centre,Jalandhar, In its drive to make Jalandhar free from noise pollution, a joint team of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and traffic Police challaned two bullet motorcycles for using multi-tone horns/pressure horns and cracker sound emitting silencer.
The team comprising Junior Environmental Engineer (JEE) Mr. Varun Kumar along with the team of traffic police led by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Mr. Ram Kishan checked 13 Royal Enfield Motorcycles at Football Chowk.
On the occasion, two royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles were issued challans for the violation of the noise pollution rules and rest bikes were found normal.
The violators would also be issued show cause notices under section 31-A of Air Act, 1981.
The team also appealed the owners of light vehicles to stop using pressure horns in their vehicles as it causes a lot of noise pollution
