WORK ON DEVELOPMENT WORKS WORTH RS 75 CRORE TO START VERY SOON IN DISTRICT

India News Centre,Jalandharः • In a good news for the residents of the district the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has decided to initiate development works worth more than Rs 75 crore in all the assembly segments of Jalandhar.
Giving the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the state government under leadership of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has taken this historic initiative to give major to development works in urban and rural areas of the state. He said that as per the directions of the state government around Rs 75 crore would be spent in the district on various development works. Mr. Sharma said that out of this Rs 39.92 crore would be spent on development works in the rural area while Rs 34.75 crore would be spent in urban areas.
The Deputy Commissioner said that out of total Rs 39.92 crore for rural areas Rs 23.60 crore would be spent under Smart Village campaign and Rs 16.32 crore would be spent from the finance department. Likewise, he said that Rs 34.75 crore would be spent in urban areas under the Urban Environment Improvement Programme. Mr Sharma said that the work on these ambitious projects would start very soon.
Meanwhile, interacting with the Block Development and Panchayat Officers and Executive Officers of the Urban Local Bodies, the Deputy Commissioner asked them to submit the estimates of these developmental works by January 25. He said that these works must be expedited so that it was completed in a time bound manner. Mr Sharma expressed hope that an era of unprecedented development and prosperity would be ushered in Jalandhar with these development projects.
On the occasion District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr Ajay Kumar, Joint Deputy Director Local Government Mr Paramjit Singh, Superintendent Engineer Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr Ashwani Chaudhary and others were also present.
